It always seems....

Hi Everyone... During the holidays it always seems that amongst all the merriment and hustle and bustle, that we hear of someones passing. I rarely like to sit down and make sympathy cards at any time of the year, but during the holidays I think it is just a little harder. Such an occasion had arisen during December for me.. so I thought I would share the card I made -

Blog Changes (follow up)

Hi Everyone! I want to thank all of those that gave me feedback regarding last evenings Blog changes. I really appreciate all the positive remarks, and most of all the constructive criticism that I received. :) Needless to say, my changes were good, but a "little" too over powering to most. So.., I played most of the afternoon, and decided to give every ones eyes including mine a rest, and went with a softer muted background. I hope you like it. I will be sticking with this for awhile. Thanks again for all your support ladies! Love you!! :)

Heather :)

P.S. I will be back later with some crafty goodness.. :)

So.., I would love it if you all would let me know if it is difficult to read and so forth, so I can adjust it as necessary. Thanks so much for your input. It is greatly appreciated. Looking forward to hearing what you think. :)

Peace

Hello Everyone! I first off want to apologize for being away yet again for such a long time. Life has become so hectic, there are only so many hours in the day to create, so something had to give. Unfortunately for a short time it was my blog. I will say that life has slowed a "wee" bit, and I hope to share some of the things that I have made for the holidays. :)

For the past couple of days, I have to admit that I have been glued to the TV, radio, and news feeds in utter disbelief and heartbreak from the unspeakable tragedy that happened in Sandy Hook, CT. I can not even fathom the thoughts and feelings of all those involved. I do know that my prayers and thoughts are with all of you, and I hope you find peace and hope in the days ahead.

A Dirty little confession

Hi Everyone! I have some news to share today... Some rather big news in my life. You know that I have been really busy these last couple of weeks, and I said I would let you know what I had been up to in the days to come. So.. that day is finally here.... I have been asked to be a DIRTY GIRL!! -

I have to say that this secret was hard to keep. It is also a Dream come true!! I have been drooling over the SplitcoastStampers Dirty Dozen creations for as long as I could remember, and only ever dreamed of being asked to join the team. So needless to say that is where my time has been these last few weeks. I do hope that you join us in the Fan Club Gallery to oogle all of the outstanding cards and projects made by the other designers and myself. You will not be disappointed and that is a guarantee! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Baking up some Christmas Cheer

Hey Everyone! I have been really busy this past week and half with some new found responsibilities, but I will share those things with you later in the week. OK? Today I have a card to share with you that I have made for a guest designer spot on the blog Pink Paper Bakery. I received a wonderful email from a beautiful lady, named Deena, who asked if I would like to be a guest designer for the blog's Magnificent Monday spot. Of course I was thrilled to be asked, and join in the fun! :)
We are getting close, as if you couldn't see all the tell tale signs, that the Holidays are upon us. So I decided to create a Christmas Card.

I used some oldies but goodies with some new images to create my card. I stamped my snowflakes onto Very Vanilla DSP from the Neutrals Stack with Chocolate Chip ink. I edged each of my panels with chocolate chip too, so there would be definition between the layers, then paper pierced around both panels. I stamped my Ornaments in Pool Party ink onto Naturals Ivory paper, cut them out with the coordinating framelits, then added some Linen Thread, Vintage Faceted designer buttons, and Basic Pearls for details. I used the sentiment christmas cheer from the set Sweet Essentials. I love the outcome! I hope you do too! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Fallen hues

Hello Everyone! Happy Halloween too! I have a really quick post today. The boys are home from school, and I need to get them ready for Trick-or-Treating. I will try to post a picture of them all dressed in their costumes. Well onto today's card then. I played along in this weeks Color me Beautiful challenge this week. The colors for the week are Perfect Plum, Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple, Chocolate Chip, and Summer Starfruit. Lots of  Fall colors in there, so I went with a fall card-

I used my only fall set, French Foliage. I guess I need to break down and get a new set for fall just for variety sake. :) My leaves are stamped in Summer Starfruit, Perfect plum, and Raspberry Ripple. I sponged the edges of each of the cut out leaves with the same color I stamped it in, then went over each one of them with one of the other colors/sponges I used to give the leaves some depth. Love it!
OK, I am off to get the kiddos ready for a fun filled night. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Sail Away wishes

Hi Everyone! I have a Birthday card to share today. My Brother-in-law has the pleasure of celebrating his birthday on the same day as Halloween. I would think that he has had his share of  cards over the years that are Halloween themed cards, so I really didn't want to add to the collection. So I set out with the stamp Sail Away -

I stamped my image in Chocolate Chip ink, heat set, then water colored the image with Midnight Muse, and Summer Starfruit inks. I used my coluzzle to cut out the image, then added a few details to finish it off. I hope he likes it. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Little boy Additions

Hello Everyone! Happy Monday too! Over the weekend I actually needed to sit down and create a card. I love when I have to actually sit, close the door for an hour, and create something start to finish without interruption. Hmmmm... I feel all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it. I feel even more warm and fuzzy considering I had to sit and create a baby card! A baby boy card to boot! Here is my card -

I have had the set Little Additions for some time, but really haven't had the occasion to ink it up. I love the simple lines of the set, so I tried to keep the layout simple and not to fussy considering it is a boy card too. OK, I am off to put this in the mail. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Aw Shucks..

Hi Everyone! Surprised right! Another post this week from me. :) I am busy getting ready for my club ladies this weekend, and we are doing a class with the Perfectly Preserved Bundle. So, I am busy getting some samples made with the set to share as inspiration. I fell in love with the Mason jar image immediately considering they are very trendy right now, but I wanted to try and come up with some other samples based around the other images in the set. Here is what I came up with -

I kinda cased myself with the LO on this card. :) I saw a card with this sentiment on Pintrest, and went from there.
I wish the set came with sentiments, but it's all good, I just hand wrote this one on a scrap with a Chocolate Chip marker, copying a font from the computer. I know the ladies are gonna love it! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Hello Everyone! I have a quick post for you this evening.... Balance

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to pop in and let you all know what's up.. I hate leaving you all in the lurch. I am sorry that I haven't been posting regularly, but I needed to take some time to myself and try to find some balance. Since my back surgery, I have to admit, though hard, I am not where I need to be physically yet. What do the doctors say... More physical therapy and exercise. So I chose the later, it costs less, and brings peace of mind. Now, my mornings and some afternoons are busy on the bike trails either riding or walking.  The weather is slowly getting cooler, and it is wonderful to get to breathe the fresh air, and take in the scenery -

I hope you all understand and have balance in your lives too! :) Thanks for stopping by!

Mixing old and new

Hi Everyone! I decided to take some time this morning and get to some stuff that I didn't get to last week, and to my delight, I finished quicker than expected. :) So why not play in the basement while in between loads of never ending laundry. I of course ;) checked out today's Color challenge on Splitcoast. I am weak, I tell ya, just plain weak for color challenges. Today's colors were Midnight Muse, Cajun Craze, and Pumpkin Pie..and the desert option was to make a Thanksgiving card, or just a thank you. Easy peasy... Here is my submission for today's challenge -

I used the set Moving Forward and decided to mix it with a sentiment from the retired set Loads of Love Accessories. I will never, ever part with that set. I Just Love it! Did you notice the lighter blue panel paired with the Midnight Muse DSP? It is the retired color Bordering Blue, and matches exactly to the polka dot in the DSP! How Cool is that?? :)  I made the pumpkin in the bicycle basket using the Sm oval punch. OK, gotta run! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Heather :)

Stamps - Moving Forward, Loads of Love Accessories, Wood grain
Paper - Midnight Muse, Bordering Blue, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, Orchard harvest DSP

After a LONG weekend, I played along in this weeks Color Me Beautiful challenge again. I really love that they post the challenge on a Friday.. It lets me think about the colors for a few days, and allows me to take my time to get some ideas going in my brain. :) OK, here are this weeks colors

I tried to incorporate all the colors again this week, and this is what I came up with -

Color me

Hi Everyone! It's Tuesday, and that means a color challenge card from me right?? Well, I do have a color challenge card for you, but it is not my usual Splitcoaststampers challenge. I found a brand new color challenge blog called Color me Beautiful. It is brand new, and this week is the very first challenge. Here are the colors for this weeks challenge -

Lots to work with... :) We need to chose at least three of the colors in the palette to use on our project. I chose to use them all for my card. I consider using ANY color of purple a real challenge, so I really wanted to challenge myself. :) Here is my submission -

I stamped my image from Fast and Fabulous with Stazon onto watercolor paper, and then colored the blooms with Perfect plum, Rich Razzleberry, and Lucky Limeade. The shaded area behind the blooms is actually Wisteria Wonder. My sentiment is stamped in Basic Gray, and added a Basic Gray satin ribbon to complete my card. :) I love these colors together, and can't wait to see what is going to be next. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Christmas Blessings

Hello Everyone! I had the chance to play for a little while last evening after the boys went to bed. Back in July when the catty first came out I purchased a new Christmas set, Christmas Blessings. I really love the line drawings, and sentiments. It was another one of the sets that spoke to me, and I considered it a must have. :)  Here is my first sample using the set -

I really think this sets line drawings lent itself to the DSP Be Of Good Cheer too. It has a vintage feel, so I went with it. :) I stamped my images 2 times in Early Espresso, heat set, then colored them with my Cherry Cobbler re-inker and an aqua painter. the center of the poinsettia is colored with a little bit of More Mustard and a blender pen. I punched one the colored images out using the 1 3/4" circle and then cut the other out and popped it up onto the first one to give it the out of the box appearance. I really like the outcome, and now I only have about 97 more to go. :) Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Wicked Cool in August

Hi Everyone! I am posting really early today considering I have alot to do during the day today. It is my boys first day back to school. Yes, not so quietly inside, I am jumping for joy as my fridge and couch finally get a reprieve, and the house will stay tidy for more than a 1/2 hour. :)
Yesterday, while going through my dog-eared layouts, I came across a card layout that I wanted to recreate using SU products. I think it turned out fabulous :) -

It looks like a lot of work, but it came together really easily. I stamped the bat and candelabra
images in black craft ink on Basic Gray paper, clear embossed them, then punched them out using the 1" square punch and backing them with Tangerine Tango using the postage stamp punch. I did the same for the other 5 squares.  Then I stamped my O, C, and T in Tangerine Tango with the Morning Post alphabet, cutting them out and layering them onto the squares. The 3 and 1 are done the same way using the set Memorable Moments. I added the witches boots, and some other details to make it complete :) OK, that's it for me, thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

CC389

Hello Everyone... I am having a lazy Tuesday here at home. The kiddos are off with friends once again, and I am left to my own devices here at home. :) So,... time to play downstairs a little. I have some scrap layouts dog-eared in a couple of magazines so I think I will get those started as well as play along in the color challenge on Splitcoast. Today's colors were some different ones for me,.. Bravo Burgundy, Regal Rose, and Summer Starfruit. Here is my submission for the challenge -

I used a set that I think I have only inked up one time before, Papaya Collage. I like the shabby vintage images in it, so I am not quite sure why I don't use it more often. I added Pink Pirouette to the scheme for today to soften the contrast between the two bold colors. I think it turned out great. OK, off to get those pages started. :) Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Out comes the Sun

Hello Everyone!! I have to say that I am having such a fun time with the set Bootiful Occasions. I can't tell you enough just how much I LOVE this set. It is just too cute and fun to get inky with! :) Maybe it is speaking to my inner fashionista... Ha! If my husband read that he would have Laughed until he cried... considering I live in Capri's, t-shirts, and flip flops these days. Guess, I need to work on that a little. Any hoo, enough yada yada, and onto my second card with Bootiful Occasions -

This card just makes me happy! :) I stamped my boot image onto watercolor paper with versamark, heat embossed with black EP, then colored it using my aqua painter using Daffodil Delight and Pool Party inks. I made my sun with a 1 3/8" circle punch, and the pennant punch. My clouds are hand cut, and I added a little piercing to them for detail. OK, I am off to get ready for my first born's 12th Birthday today! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! :)

Bootiful Occasions

Hi Everyone! In recent days I have had a little more time to myself as the summer is coming to a bitter end for the kiddos as school is starting up again next week. I can hardly contain my excitement while writing that... My insides are giddy and smiling! :) So,... on these days when they are off with their friends, I get to play with my new acquisitions from Stampin' Up! :) When the catalog came out in July, I spied the set Bootiful Occasions. The images in this set are SO CUTE. Try as I might to pass it up, I just could not.. So here is my first card with this Uber cute set -

Considering Halloween is coming up, I started with the witches boot first. I paired it with the gorgeous Howlstooth DSP from the holiday mini catalog. I colored my boot with my blender pen and More Mustard ink, and then paper pieced the strap and inside of the boot with the opposite side of the multicolored panel shown. I really think it turned out great. Can't wait to play some more! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Night of Navy, Tempting turquoise, and Pacific Point. I kept my design CAS for ease, and got a chance to use a new set to me from the main catalog called Blooming with Kindness. Here is my card -

The dessert option for this week was to add a swirl, so I added a few quilled flowers. :) I hope that counts. OK, I am off to get the day complete. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! :)

Above & Beyond

Hi Everyone!! It's Tuesday, and I had a chance to play in the Color Challenge on Splitcoast this morning while my boys slept in! :) Love when they do, and I can get to things uninterrupted. :)) Today's colors were some new ones, Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, and a oldie but goodie, Old Olive. I haven't really used the new In Colors, so I had to play along. Here is my card -

I found inspiration for my card from Stamp It, a publication by Paper Crafts. I really love the bold colors together. I made the little banners across the balloon with a 1/8" scrap from my desk, as well as the balloons basket. Turned out to be a cute thank you card, don't you think? Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! Details below -

Preserved just for you

Hi Everyone! I finally got all the running that I could today done! Phew.... So, with that said I am putting my derriere in a chair and sharing a card made with some new goodies from the upcoming SU Holiday Mini Catalog. There is an Uber sweet set called Perfectly Preserved  in the Holiday Mini catalog, and I fell in LOVE! Here is my sample -

This canning jar can be filled with SO many things! :) Today I just kept it simple, and filled it with flowers. I stamped my image on water color paper with Versamark and heat embossed it with white EP. I used my aqua painter and Baja Breeze reinker to add the water, then cut out the embossed and colored image. I placed my cut out onto the card base, then stamped my stems and added the blooms. Added a simple black frame around the blooms, and added the just for you tag. Love it! Off to play some more... Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! Details below -
