Hi all & Happy Wednesday! I have another card for you today using another new set from the upcoming SU Summer mini catalog. This set is called Fabulous Florets. When I spied this set, I have to admit it was the papers that coordinate with it that I swooned over. So if all us crafters think alike, and I know we do, HOW could I possibly JUST get the papers and not the set??? I mean for Pete's sake c'mon! *wink* So for your viewing pleasure, you get to see both in action today -

The card LO is from last weeks Sketch challenge on Splitcoast. Here is the Sketch-

I flipped the sketch, and changed the sizes of the panels to fit my needs. Oh.. there is another new goodie used too, the Flower Garden EF. ( I know, I know... you should see the twist marks on my arms from all the "must have it" pressure! he-he) I stamped the Poppies in versamark on watercolor paper, embossed with black EP, then water colored them with Tangerine Tango. To get the deeper tone on the petals, I used my Cajun Craze marker, and then went over the just colored area with my aqua painter. The Sentiment is from a SU hostess set called Occasional Quotes. 

I am going to send this as a Mother's day card, so this card also fits the SUO challenge card for this week. (Whoop! Whoop!)  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! Details below -

A CC on the Open Sea

Hi Everyone! I have been away for a little while. I needed to take a little mental break, and let my wheels stop spinning. I was beginning to feel a little overwhelmed with things here at home, and my Mojo went AWOL. Sorry if ya missed me, and I hope you understand. OK...I am back and I do have a card to share with you today. I decided to play along in the color challenge on Splitcoast to get my mojo legs back, and super glad I did too. The colors today were Crumb Cake, Concord crush, and Very Vanilla. Two neutrals, and one bold. Lots of possibilities. :) There is always a dessert option with the challenge, and it was not to use any DSP. Here is my card for today's challenge -

Simply Stated

Hi!, & Happy Friday all! I have another page for you today. Didn't expect that one right? :) Ok, Ok, ... I will take a break for a few days from the pages, and come back with some cards. ( you can't see me crossing my fingers right?)  I got some new goodies from Mr. Brown, so I promise I will share with you! :)

This page was a super quick one. It took about 20 minutes start to finish. I kept the LO super simple, as I didn't want to take away from the picture or the title for that matter. Here is the page -

The circle/geometric image is from the SU hostess set Apple Blossoms. I stamped it in various colors in a row, then took a brand new #2 pencil eraser, inked it up, and stamped inside some of the circles with the same color. The DSP is a retired paper called Spring break from a few years ago. I did a little framing around the inside of the picture, and just around the edge of the page. I added a few staples for detail, and that's it. How can you mess with a kid just being a kid. Simple as that! :) Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! Details below -

A Fitting Sketch

Happy Wednesday! I am catching up on stuff today, considering we were gone last week. I am still scrappin' away, so stay tuned for some more pages. K? I felt a little deprived from my stamping while I was away, so I decided to play along in the Sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers today. Here is the sketch -

pretty straight forward sketch this week. Not to much to think about, with lots of possibilities. Glad too, considering I am playing catch up, and still wanting to make a little time for me. :) I used some stamps that I think are feeling a little neglected lately on my card, Sew Suite, and Button, Button from the Occasion's mini. You only have until the end of April to purchase these Sets, and Papers too. So Lucky

Hi All! Sorry I have been absent from the blogging world for the last week. The kiddos and I took a short road trip to St. Louis for our Spring Break. I had promised them a long time ago that we would be going on this trip, and then things got really tight for awhile, so we had to put it off. So with a lot sacrificing and penny pinching, we were able to take the trip this year. Were they ever excited too!  They were packed before I could say a thing, and even offered to pack my bags for me. :) So we are back from a short vacation, feeling relaxed and rejuvenated!  Right!!
Of course while the boys were busy playing in the pool, (after long days of visiting BORING historical sites on the trip), I got to catch up on the stack of scrap booking mags that have been collecting dust on my desk. I book marked a few sketches for inspiration, came home to the laundry room, (also known as Downstairs Designs) and was eager to get to scrapping. Here is the first page I completed -

This picture of my boys is one of my faves from when they were small. I have it framed, but not scrapped. I used some Concord Crush and Ice Cream Parlor DSP from this past Sale-a-bration. I didn't think that the pinks were something to worry about for a boy page, considering the pattern is really a geometric, and that they are giving me some daisies from the yard. :) So Sweet and Sincere! Scrappy layers

Hi all! I wanted to share another card with you that I made over my relaxing weekend. I am in that spring cleaning mood too! Getting organized, putting away things and scraps that I have acumulated on my cutting table. I mentioned in an earlier post that I am really committed to using up my older DSP's and in the process I am learning to rethink my scraps. Some are big and some are small, some left over from workshop cards, and so on and so on... Here is what I came up with for this scrappy card -

a Not so Shabby Birthday

Happy Monday all! If you have been keeping up with my posts lately, I have been having a relaxing couple of days doing what I like best...hunkering down and getting inky. It really has been nice just stamping for stamping sake, and getting some cards out of the way to replenish my stash as the fresh spring air and warmer days head our way.

 It was also nice to check out all the challenges that I have been missing, and doing some (well more than some) lurking on some of my favorite blogs. Awhile ago, I happened on the SUO challenge blog. I always frequent it, but rarely play along. I had a chance to play along in the last one, as a card that I had allready made fit the challenge. Happen stance really. This week I made it a point to play along.  How could I not, the challenge was to make a birthday card. The hostess even states that out of all the cards we make, birthday cards have to be on the top of our lists. Isn't that why we started stamping and taking up this hobby anyway..saying to ourselves look at all the money I am going to save making my own brithday cards. (hee-hee)

For my challenge card I used a sentiment from the Bring on the cake set found in the SU Occasions mini catalog, and Vintage Vogue. My papers are a mix of Love letters DSP, and News Print DSP, and both are current. Gasp! Yes, you read that right....I used current DSP!! :) I added some Crochet trim,  black Satin ribbon, faux stitching, and a vanilla button tied with some black thread to finish it off. A ruffled egg

HI! I bet you are wondering... A Sunday post? Really? Yup, I have been busy stamping that last two days, without too much interruption. ( Yikes!, when DOES that happen right?) Well it has for me this weekend, and I am taking FULL advantage! *wink*
The card that I have for you today, is actually an idea that I had floating around for awhile, and today was the day to put it to work. I can say that I REALLY like the concept, but I don't think I am really pleased with the outcome. You be the judge -

to me it seems a little messy, or maybe it is just the photo. It is really to bright out, and late in the day to actually get a good picture. A Sunny Hello

Hi All! I hope you all are having a terrific Saturday, and relaxing a little. Today I am relaxing, and stamping very leisurely. I LOVE when I can do that! No one in the house has to be anywhere, and my darling husband is handling dinner, and the boys are surprisingly quiet...excuse me while I pause for a second to knock on some wood...(hee-hee).
I checked out the challenges that I missed this week on Splitcoast this morning, and the Friday free for all challenge caught my attention. It was called Hello Sunshine. Our hostess asked us to be inspired by the Sun, and all it brings. I couldn't resist, ... hoping that all the positive thinking that this challenge would bring, just might bring us those warmer days a little sooner than later. :) 

My LO for this card is from the March Issue of Cards. I stamped my clouds using the frosting from Create a Cupcake found in the SU Occasions mini catty. I first stamped in versamark, and then in White craft offsetting it just a little to give the clouds some depth. I am also still very committed to using up my old DSP scraps. I used some retired Pawsitively Prints, another paper that I so dearly miss (sniff-sniff). But it's all good, the scraps I used made for one cute card! :) Thanks for stopping by. Details below -

Hellooooo!!! I hope you all had a relaxing weekend, and you were able to get a little stamping time in there. I certainly did. My club girls were over, and we had a great time. During club we touched on some of our favorite retired stamp sets, and papers. That conversation lead me to pull out some of those sets, and papers, and bring them up to the front of my drawer, and begin to use 'em up. I have SO many papers! Some are full packs of DSP that I am scared to cut into. Well, I am committed to it! :) ( In my head I keep saying they are going to make a comeback like VHS tape...Really! ) So anyhoo, I played along in the Splitcoaststampers color challenge this morning, and used some retired DSP for my papers. The hostess chose to use Regal Rose, So Saffron, and Pear Pizazz.

Neutral Thinking

Hi All! Happy St. Patrick's day to those out celebrating today! I have a quick creation to share with you today. This card is actually a sample for my club girls this month. I wanted to showcase some backgrounds and the use of neutral papers. I also needed to make a sympathy card for my stash, as I noticed that I had none, and really like to have some on hand. As this card is not actually a Sympathy but a simple thinking of you card that can be used either way. Anyhoo -

I stamped my background with crumb cake, and the floral spray in the center (from the same  background stamp) with classic black. I then stamped my image (background) again in versamark on very vanilla paper, heat embossed with black EP, then cut out the flowers (from the same spray) I wanted and paper pieced them onto the stamped image, popping up some with dimensional dots for depth. I used some very vanilla ribbon, and Sincere Salutations for my sentiment. Simple and stated if I do say so myself, an I think the club girls will love it too. :) Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! Details below -

Bring on the Color Challenge

Hellooooo!!! Tuesday already?? That means there is a color challenge to play along with on Splitcoaststampers. I used the challenge today as a starting point for a birthday card for my sister-in-law Patti. Her Birthday is on St. Pat's Day, and I always seem to send her the same card every year...a card that has an Irish blessing or a St. Pat's theme. I really wanted to change it up this year and give her something different. So that is where the color challenge comes in. The hostess on Splitcoast chose so wonderfully subdued relaxing colors today, Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, and Crumb Cake. Some of my favorite colors, if you hadn't already noticed. Here is Patti's card -





 I made some little flowers by punching a scallop circle out of some baja breeze paper, cutting it into a spiral, and than wrapping it tight around the tip of a pencil. Easy peasy really! The sentiment is from the set Bring on the cake from the Occasion's mini as well as the Baja Breeze seam binding on the bottom of my card. This stuff is Delicious! A Shade late...

 We made it... I had a little doubt...but super glad we did...:)  Happy Friday!!! Whoop! Whoop!

 I was having one of those days yesterday..ya know busy doing your thing, and all the while you are thinking that there was something you were supposed to do. You wander, wonder, and rack your noodle, and then it hits ya..(insert audible forehead slap here)  to wish a certain special someone a happy birthday. D'OH! So..... I got a chance to pull out one of my oldest and favorite stamp sets Furnished with love. This is one of those sets that I will never part with... it is timeless. The sweet images are so fun to color, and paper piece, which is exactly what I did here -

I used my markers and versamarker to color the lamp bases, and paper pieced the shades with current SU papers to update the image a little. I added just a few details to balance it out. Hello my dear..

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a card that I made with a new stamp set to me called Forest Friends. I was able to get this set with a Sale-a-bration order. There are sets from the SU main catalog that we are able to choose from too, not just the exclusive Sale-a-bration goodies that are for a limited time. So check them out...there might be a set in there that you just may have had your heart set on for awhile, and you can get for FREE!! OK, enough of the yada yada, and let's get to that sample.. :)

I stamped my woodgrain background with bleach onto Soft Suede card stock, let it dry, and then cut out my tree limbs. I used the large oval punch to make my tree leaves, and School Days DSP for my background papers. I think it turned out just as sweet as can be. I love it when that happens. I had overlooked this set in the catalog for so long, but glad I didn't again. It is so sweet, and even sweeter, it was FREE!! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. Details are below -

Some Teeny Tiny St. Patrick's Day Wishes

Good Afternoon everyone! After yesterday's post, and looking at all the wonderful St. Patrick's day cards in the Free for all challenge gallery on Splitcoast, I felt inspired to make a few more for my personal stash. I don't think that stash will last long though, considering my husbands family is Irish, and my Sister-in-law was born on that day. :)   Any hoo, I have two cards to share with you today. Lucky you right!  :) The first card is a case of another card that I had done for Valentine's Day. I just changed the colors, and instead of the heart, I stamped a shamrock. The shamrock is from the Sale-a-bration set So Happy for You.

I stamped the party hats from Party Hearty upside down to look like a banner, and replaced one of them with the shamrock. I added a little bling to it with the some SU Cosmo glitter. Super Cute! :)

The next card I used a LO that I had flagged in a book, and went from there. I used some retired DSP from the Sweetpea stack from last spring, and created my shamrock using the small heart punch, and the flourish from the SU Set Vintage Vogue.

Bring on the CC

Hi Everyone! I have been away for a few days takin' care of  Sale-a-bration business, and workshops. Lots of stamping and creating but none for me.. But it's all good. I am at home today with one of my sons who has been feeling under the weather, and my Husband who needed to work from home today. So we are taking it easy, and I decided to play along in the color challenge on Splitcoaststampers. Our hostess choose to use Certainly Celery, Marina Mist, and Rose Red for our colors this week.  Each week we are given a dessert option as well, and this week it was to use a banner. Ooh, now that caught my attention.I needed to make a quick card for a Niece whose Birthday is this week. I so love Banners! Fun, Festive, and lots of possibilities.... Here is what I came up with for the challenge today ......

I cut various sized triangles out of card stock and some Designers series papers. The stripe and the dsp with hearts is from a retired stack from last years SAB called Good Neighbor. The Sentiment is from the set Bring on the Cake from the current SU Occasion's mini catalog. Turned out super sweet! Off to the post office! Thanks for taking a peek, details below. --

Thinking of you

Is anybody else out there feeling the dog days of Winter yet? I am sure it goes without saying that we ALL are... Last weeks warm up around here had us thinking that Spring was on the way,  but that does not seem to be the case. Back to snow, shoveling, and scarves. A little disappointing to say the least. So I decided to bring Spring to me. :) More on that in a minute.
Today I decided to play along in the Splitcoaststampers Sketch challenge.  I haven't done a challenge in awhile, and it felt good. A VERY inspiring sketch today too! Here is the sketch -

I looked at the sketch, and was inspired to make a little window scene.

 

 I used elements from the SU set Cheep talk, and a scrap of some retired paper from the Sweet Pea DSP pack. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, and very appropriate for the card I think. I am just wondering if anyone out there has "Springs" address so I can  let him/her know that I am thinking about them, and miss them dearly. :) Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. This past weekend, I received some wonderful comments from some very sweet ladies regarding my blog. I  have been awarded the stylish blogger award by two sweet sweet women, Patty Braun,  http://rocpaperstamps.blogspot.com/ and Lorraine Toll  http://www.lorrainesstampincorner.blogspot.com/ . I am really honored ladies, and glad to inspire with my creations. Both Ladies have AMAZING talent in their own right, so please pay it forward and have a see for yourselves! Now with this award I need to tell you 8 things about myself, and list 8 blogs that inspire me. I will start with things about me -

1. I love to take pictures of my family, and eventually scrap them all! ( I know Big DREAMS Right! )
2. I can get a little too goofy at times, especially if Stampin' Up! is involved in the equation. :)
3. I am left handed, but do not write upside down.
4. I have a new obsession with homemade Granola.
5. I LOVE to roller skate, and shake my junk. ( if the two are done at the same time it can be quite comical!)
6. I Love to color...It's the little girl in me that won't let go.
7. I am starting to think I have TOO many punches.
8. I am still doing all my own stunts! :)

Feelin' a little Punchy.........

Hi Everyone! Could any of you tell me where the weekend went? I have looked in the sofa cushions, and under the beds, but cannot seems to figure out where it went. :) I am feeling REALLY punchy today after that incredibly short weekend. So I broke out my punches, and got a little busy creating while the kiddos are relaxing on a day off of school. (Great segway right? HA!)

I had this sketch ear marked in a book for awhile, so I used that as a starting point. I started with a scrap of cardboard that I had on my desk from a previous project. The scrap is actually from a SU shipping box. I cut off one of the flaps and tore the top layer off to reveal the corrugated center. I hand cut the tree limb, and then got busy with my punches. The sentiment is from the SU set called Cheep Talk. Don't ya think it turned out Super cute for someone who is a little Punchy?? Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. :) Details Below -

Scrapping for Sean

Happy Friday Everyone! The weather around here has been a little sneaky and teasing us and making it very difficult to concentrate on the tasks at hand. Which in my case would be that Scrapbook I have been talking about for the last couple of posts. I mentioned that I would share a favorite page or two with you, so today is the day. My son Sean is crossing over this weekend from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. As a parent of one of the advancing scouts, we were asked by the Den Leader to make a scrapbook of their journey through Cub Scouts. I have to say that scrapping is not my strong suite, I am very intimidated by it. I think that is why I have procrastinated for so long... (4 yrs or so). I have the best intentions like most, but then I get swallowed up in all the photos, and the memories, and then I completely lose track of time, and yada yada.. I know I am not alone in this Right? (C'mon someone agree with me out there!!) Whew! that makes me feel better! :) Here is one of my Faves.....

The background paper is non SU, and I used some Cub Scout sticker elements from my LSS, for ease in helping getting this book done. The stars along with the title are SU papers Crushed Curry and Night of Navy, and Tangerine tango.  I added a little keepsake envelope for his badges, and segments that he earned as a Tiger to the page. He could also write down a favorite memory and slip it in there too. :) I look at his picture, and am afraid to blink again..he is growing up SO fast... A box of Sunshine

Hi everyone! Have you seen all the cute stuff out there made from the new Create a cupcake set from the SU Occasion's mini catalog?? Well, I have! I have been oogling and drooling over some of the ever so sweet creations for weeks, and I FINALLY got my set yesterday from my favorite man in Brown! It could be raining, snowing, or just gloomy out, and when he has something for me, it's like opening up a box of sunshine! There really is something fabulous about it right??

Happy Wednesday! Been away for a few days, plugging away at that scrapbook I mentioned last week. I think there might be an end in sight! I needed to come up for air from boy things and scout stuff  so I broke out a set that has not seen ink yet, Morning Cup. It was on my wish list for quite awhile, and I finally let my ideas "steep" long enough...and broke under the pressure! :)

 This is a back to the basics kind of card... just paper and ink. I stamped my images in black Stazon on watercolor paper, colored them, and added simple embellishments. "Tea-rific" right! (sorry I couldn't resist)! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! :)

The Best in You

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday! I have one last card to share with you when I was up all night with the Midwest blizzard of 2011. I am very stuck on the dress form from the Sew Suite set, so yes you will have to bear with me... I am sure you will not be disappointed. I promise (fingers crossed) that I will move on to another set, or maybe just a stamp from this set. *wink* ;0)  This card was actually the first card I made with the set. Maybe that's why I decided to share it last. Anyhoo, I used the Tulip Frame EF from the Occasions mini with it, and it turned out so girly I Just LOVE IT!

Bright Buttons

Hi! Did ya miss me?? Well I sure missed you! I have been working on a scrapbook for one of my boys. He is crossing over from Cub Scouts into Boy Scouts, and the parents are supposed to gift their son a scrapbook. I have only known about this for, hmmmmmm...., 4 yrs now...! Sheesh.. Nothing like working under a little bit of pressure. :) I will share some of my favorite pages when I am done... Deal?!

I have another sample using Sew Suite for you. I can hear you saying, " Another one? " Well Yeah! I am really having fun with it, and I know you will too!

I also used a new set, called Button, Button from the SU Occasion's mini catalog. I knew I wanted this set as soon as I saw it. It reminded me of one of my ALL time favorite sets Seeing Spots, which has been retired, Sniff.. Sniff, for awhile now. So look for more to come with this set too! :) I had fun making this card. On your Special Day

Good Afternoon everyone! I have been up all night with the CRAZY weather here in the Midwest, and so have the kiddos. There was so much excitement here ya think it was Christmas Eve. In Fact, they were up SO early asking if they could go outside and play in all that wonderful snow... Ahh to be a kid again and really appreciate a snow day! :) So What does one do until all hours of the night besides watching the blizzard outside? Well Stamp Of Course! Being wide awake I took advantage, and got to some creating with a set from the SU Occasion's mini catty called Sew Suite. At first I wasn't too sure about the versatility of the set, but, I am really warming up to it now! Lots of Possibilities really...Like......

PCS February Issue is almost here!

Good Morning! Is everyone in the Midwest gearing up for the Blizzard of 2011? I know I am. I made sure I had all the proper provisions yesterday....card stock, check,... adhesive, check...current addition of Paper Crafters Sampler, check! :) What is Paper Crafters Sampler you ask?  It is a monthly online subscription to beautiful cards and 3D projects made exclusively with Stampin' Up! products, that are based on a monthly theme -
Each monthly issue includes:

•Step-by-step instructions for 8 projects
•Full color images
•Complete supply list
•Paper dimensions for recreating each project
All projects shown in the Paper Crafters Sampler (PCS) are designed exclusively by experienced Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. Each design team member brings to the sampler her own personal style, allowing the sampler to showcase unique and interesting projects.


Samplers are based on monthly themes, allowing subscribers a one-stop resource for beautiful paper crafting ideas.
